Marriage Preparation

When getting married there are a lot of things a couple needs to fix before the the big day. We just did one of it, attended "Marriage Preparation seminar" at church. We got a lot of advices on why men and women act the way they do. The seminar made us become aware of the true responsibility of marriage and that it is not just a contract but a covenant with God.

There is no perfect marriage, in fact no one is perfect but only God. We learned that we must forgive 77 time because Jesus told us to.

Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times? Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times." -Matthew 18:21-22

When entering into marriage, we are leaving our past responsibility and moving to a new chapter in our life. Facing responsibilities as husband and wife, and starting a Christ-centered family. God appointed men to be the head of the family and women as a helpful partner that encourages her spouse all the way. It may be hard to adjust to one another's differences, but change does not happen instantly. It takes time, prayer and God's guidance.

"Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.  Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything." -Ephesians 5:22-24

To maintain a good relationship, there should be good communication between both partners. A healthy communication avoids conflict and confusion. It also avoids secrets and lies, good communication often takes time, effort and discipline. Discipline in a way that one would take time to listen out one's side and avoid judgement...

Attending this seminar made us learn a lot and how we should be in our marriage. We pray that whatever we learned from this seminar can be applied in our life, cause nothing can be instantly changed but it takes time. With God, it is always possible to change but one step at a time. Just glad that we've finished our 3-day (every Wednesday) session

Eat-All-You-Can bonding with Family

Bonding with family today, Eat-All-You-Can (aka Buffet) at Yakimix SM Mall of Asia. Siblings requested and wanted to try a buffet dinner. This is a restaurant that serves a buffet meal entirely made up of Japanese cuisine and a mix of other Asian dishes. But before enjoy, we had to find the place. Circled the entire seaside and ground floor of MOA just to find Yakimix. We asked for directions but still had difficulties in finding it because the mall was so big and the restaurant was located at the back of the mall. We searched and searched...and finally found the place.

We started our buffet meal at 7:00PM and ended 9:00PM, so we lasted 2 hours but did not eat that much. We ate what only our stomachs can handle...we tried any dish that was available on the buffet table. Sushi, Tempura, Garlic Tahong, Yakitori and different kinds of meat for grilling. Desserts were also available such as ice creak, halo halo and small brownies. It was great. Had fun doing this with my family and fiance. Good food and happy Tummy...

Healthy Living 2013

This 2013, made a New Year's Resolution to start being fit and healthy by exercising. Started jogging every Tuesdays after work last January and now, I still continue to do this but this time with my partner, Ryan.

We joined a group known as "Ayala Triads" (part of adiNation) and they are all hard-core marathoners. A talent that would be hard to achieve especially for first time joggers like me and Ryan, but despite of that we take it as a challenge for us to learn how to be like them.

Every Tuesdays 7:00PM, we start of with body stretching from head-to-toe for at least 30-45 minutes. After this, the challenge begins...our running drills. Every meeting is not the same, there is always a new drill related to running.

Last week Tuesday, February  19, Sir Zaldy gave away free 5-day trial pass at Fitness First gym. Which was great cause this would help us more in keeping fit and healthy. Also bought last night, maintenance medicine such as Daily Multivitamins (for health maintenance), Fish Oil (for heart and remove excess cholesterol) and Vitamin E (for cell regeneration). Why so much medicine? Lets just say that I'm more of a carnivore than a herbivore...

Volunteer Assembly / Jogging / Banapple Saturday

Being a part of a Ministry is how one can serve God and help in the advancement of His Kingdom. Just attended yesterday, Technical Ministry Assembly at Church. From 2:00PM to 4:00PM. Getting to know one another, specially meeting new volunteers.

"If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him." - John 12:26

After the entire meeting, we had to sign a small agreement paper of our commitment to serve. It made me reflect on the day I first volunteered for this ministry and how I was like as a newbie. Realizing that I've been a tech ministry volunteer since 2011, that 2 years of  volunteering. Happy and Glad that I'm part of it. Now, it's my turn to teach a newbie on how to use ProPresenter 4, keynote and everything that was thought to me by my fellow team mates in the ministry. I love serving in this ministry and I pray that I can continue doing this until God wants me to...

After attending Ministry gathering, had to prepare for jogging at Marikina Sports Center with VGroup friends. Arrived late and did not make it for aerobics, instead we tried to jog around sports center oval. Started 7:30PM and ended at 9:00PM. It's hard to exercise when sick, had difficulties in breathing. Was only able to do 3 full rounds in the oval.

Burning calories when jogging is great, but what's greater is a snack after doing it. Banapple date...at Katipunan, Quezon city. Ordered Banoffee pie with matching Large glass of Cold Milk. Hmmm....Delicioso!! Dropped dead sleepy after finishing my glass of milk and banoffee pie, also resulting to a slight fever. It may have been a busy Saturday...but another day well spent.

Planning the Big Day

We started our 2013 with a 5-day Prayer and Fasting. We prayed to God for our wedding preparations and a morning job for Ryan. We asked for God's grace when we fasted especially with our one meal a day choice of fast because we really wanted to complete all 5-days. After a few days, Ryan got hired for a morning position in the same company his been for 3 years. Praise God answered prayer, cause he didn't need to resign to have a morning job.

Last January 19, we attended "Getting Married Bridal Fair" at SMX Convention center where we met different suppliers and their exhibit. Booked our Invitations and Photo/Videographer.

Just last night, we had contract signing with our Wedding Coordinator, got great advices and ideas for our wedding. Great conversation as well, advantage of having a Christian coordinator.
